Four Indonesians have been arrested here for connections to the al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda.
The National Intelligence Service took into custody a 32-year-old man and confiscated a bayonet, a mock gun and a jihadi flag. The other three were deported for immigrations violations, a spokesman said Tuesday.
The first man posted a pledge on social media to join jihad and "die a martyr," the NIS said.
The other three were nabbed while the first man was being investigated. They were arrested in Buan, North Jeolla Province and North Gyeongsang Province.
One of them confessed during the investigation to joining the first man in supporting the Al-Nusra Front, the NIS said.
Another expressed his desire to join jihad and kill himself in a suicide bombing attack. He also raised funds for Islamist fighters.
