Seoul to Promote New Slogan

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has adopted a new slogan for the capital.

The letter salad "I·SEOUL·U" will replace the existing "Hi Seoul" and "Soul of Asia" slogans.

Seoul city officials put their shoulder to the wheel in October last year and gathered ideas from the public this summer.

The new slogan was selected from 16,147 entries and put up for a vote in October. Some 140,000 Seoul citizens cast their votes.

I·SEOUL·U garnered an improbable 58.21 percent of the votes.

A Seoul city official said, "The people of Seoul have chosen the I·SEOUL·U slogan, and we intend to publicize it throughout the world."

Seoul is going to set up an installation in front of City Hall in December to publicize the new slogan.
