ATMs to Refuse Service to Customers in Sunglasses, Hats

      August 18, 2015 12:47

Automatic teller machines will refuse services to customers wearing hats, sunglasses or masks from October because they interfere with their face-recognition software.

The Financial Supervisory Service said the new software will be installed in ATMs in 100 locations that have been the scene of frequent fraud and theft and will be gradually expanded across the nation.

Face-recognition cameras will try to confirm the identities of ATM users and stop them from proceeding with transactions if they fail to recognize their faces.
