Draft Dodgers to Be Shamed Online Next Year

The personal information on men who evade mandatory military service without legitimate reasons will be published on a government website from the second half of next year.

The Military Manpower Administration will publish the names, ages and addresses of draft dodgers who stay on overseas after reaching enlistment age, fail to turn up for their physical examination, or ignore the order to present themselves for alternative military service, a spokesman said on Monday.

Their personal information will remain online until after they fulfill the military service.

The MMA will make a list of draft dodgers from July to December this year and summon them before a committee in February next year to give them the opportunity to explain themselves.

It will then decide whose information to publish.
