Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who started this season on the disabled list, says he no longer feels pain in his shoulder.
In an interview with local media after Sunday's game against the Colorado Rockies, the pitcher said he can now play catch without any problems and feels in good enough condition to throw a bullpen.
Ryu complained of pain in his left shoulder after pitching in an exhibition game against the Texas Rangers on March 18, and was placed on the disabled list. After a period of rehabilitation, he resumed practicing and has been throwing for the past three straight days.
But it is still not clear when Ryu will return to the mound. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the pitcher was recovering well but remains under medical supervision.
Ryu said that for the time being all he could do was follow his trainers' advice.
