Koreans are consuming more meat than ever.

According to a recent report released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Koreans chomped their way through nearly 43 kg of meat per person in 2013 -- nearly four times the amount of pork, chicken and beef the average Korean ate 30 years ago.

While meat consumption has skyrocketed, Koreans are eating less and less rice. The average Korean ate 67 kg of rice in 2013 -- half of the average rice consumption recorded 30 years ago.

A ministry official attributed the changes to rising income levels and increasingly westernized eating habits.
