The transition from winter to spring is not the best time for those suffering from hair loss, as a dry spring breeze and increased levels of male hormones cause more hair to fall out.
If more than 100 strands of hair fall out a day, the scalp is itchy or hair seems to be thinning, one should be suspicious of alopecia.
Thoroughly washing and drying your hair can help prevent baldness as it is important to wash out any residue from hair styling products. Hair should be dried with cool air to prevent damage to the scalp and unnecessary exposure to germs.
A balanced diet and rest can also help prevent hair loss in the changing season. A healthy diet is not the sole solution to hair loss, but it can slow down and mitigate symptoms. Shifting from a meat-heavy and fatty diet to a vegetable-based, low-sodium one is recommended.
Seborrheic scalp infection can result from excessive stress, so managing stress with rest and regular exercise is important.
