Trading volume between the two Koreas hit a record high of over US$2.1 billion last year despite strained ties.
Most of the items traded were raw materials and finished goods from the joint Kaesong Industrial Complex.
In 2013, when the complex was shut down for six months amid inter-Korean tensions, trade volume was just over $1 billion.
