Sex Peaks on Christmas Day

Christmas Day sees the most sexual activity of all the days of the year, if condom sales in convenience stores are anything to go by.

Convenience store chain Seven Eleven said Wednesday its analysis of condom sales last year revealed that if average daily sales are set at 100, the index for Dec. 25 is a whopping 262 points.

The runner up is Christmas Eve with 196.3, followed by the Buddha's Birthday on May 17 with 179.3.

Impending winter and the season of giving generally seem to prompt people to snuggle up to one another, with December seeing the liveliest sales of condoms at 108.6.

Seven Eleven said men in their 30s and 40s account for 40 percent of buyers, but women now make up 24 percent, up from 16 percent last year, as the safe-sex message sinks in.
