Samsung Electronics has again postponed the launch of a smartphone with its own operating system Tizen.
The so-called Tizen phone was to be released in India last Wednesday, but the plan has been canceled for the third time in a series of delays for the gadget.
Tarun Malik, head of Samsung's Mobile Solutions Center for Southeast Asia, in September said that the company would launch the phone in India by the end of the year.
Similar delays have happened twice earlier this year. A launch was expected in Japan through NTT DoCoMo at the start of the year, but it was canceled. Another launch plan in Russia was called off in July.
"We are cautious about launching this product," a Samsung staffer said. "We don't want to release a product before it is ready and risk turning off consumers."
