Activists continued floating helium balloons carrying propaganda leaflets into North Korea on Sunday despite warnings of retaliation from the North.

North Korea has repeatedly called on Cheong Wa Dae to stop the activists sending the balloons.

Around a dozen activists flew propaganda balloons from Paju north of Seoul criticizing the hereditary dictatorship in North Korea. They launched around a dozen balloons carrying 200,000 leaflets.

On Saturday, North Korea warned it would keep a close watch on how the government handles the activist groups and threatened to attack the source.

But a Unification Ministry official said the government has no legal basis to stop the activities.
