Singer Lee Seung-chul performed at the annual NGO conference in New York on Wednesday. Lee opened the 65th UN DPI/NGO Conference at the UN Headquarters with songs like "Arirang" and Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge over Troubled Water."
After the keynote speech, Lee went back on stage and sang his song "The Day," which was created to inspire desire for reunification between the two Koreas.
"I was so honored and thrilled to sing in front of leaders who devote themselves to help people in need and I want to thank them for their efforts," Lee said. "I sang with gratitude for the NGOs."

Lee was the only performer for the 4,000 people from 900 non-governmental organizations.
Lee and a choir consisting of young North Korean defectors are on a five-day tour in the U.S. to promote Korean reunification.
They will also perform at Harvard University on Friday to raise awareness for North Korean defectors.
