The eccentric former NBA star Dennis Rodman has denied that North Korean eminence grise Jang Song-taek was executed.
Rodman, who has struck up a bizarre friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, told fashion magazine DuJour, "The last time I went there, when they said they killed his girlfriend, they killed his uncle, they just fed him to the dogs... they were standing right behind me."
The reporter asked Rodman whether Jang is really still alive since the North officially announced his execution in December, but Rodman insisted.
"He was standing right there," he said.
He added Kim Jong-un "really, really wants to talk to Obama. He can't say it enough. He's saying that he doesn't want to bomb anybody. He said, 'I don't want to kill Americans'. He loves Americans."
Rodman visited the North four times over the past year, each time returning with more outlandish tales.
