Korean-born skater Viktor Ahn, who won three gold and one bronze medal in short track skating at the Sochi Winter Olympics, was awarded a decoration for his stellar performance on Monday.
Russian President Vladmir Putin gave the medals to 49 athletes who contributed to putting Russia at the top of the medals table.
In a congratulatory speech, he singled out Ahn, saying that his outstanding performance persuaded millions to love the sport.
Earlier, the Russian government also gave Ahn an apartment in Moscow as a present.
