Toxic haze which has made the air murky in the Seoul metropolitan area and on the west coast since Friday will likely linger until Wednesday.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government issued a preliminary ultrafine particle alert for the second day on Sunday. It is issued when the concentration of ultrafine particles stays over than 60㎍/㎥ for two hours.

The concentration of fine particles had been at the mildly dangerous level of 81-120 ㎍/㎥ on average in Seoul since Friday. On Sunday, levels rose to a dangerous 121~180㎍/㎥ or higher across the country.
According to the National Institute of Environmental Research, fine particles will probably stay at the mildly dangerous level of 81-120 ㎍/㎥ in most parts of the country until Wednesday.
