China, N.Korea Named Biggest Threats in Asia by U.S. Experts

      U.S. defense experts have named China as the top threat in Asia, followed by North Korea, Defense News reported on Sunday.

      The U.S. magazine polled 352 military experts in the defense industry, the White House, the Pentagon and the media in November last year.

      Some 47.6 percent named China as the greatest threat to the U.S. allies in Asia, followed by North Korea with 28.77 percent. Next came cyberwarfare with 12.33 percent, terrorism with 7.88 percent and climate change with 3.08 percent.

      When asked about the most serious threat facing the U.S overall, the largest proportion or 45.1 percent chose cyberwarfare, followed by terrorism (26.3 percent), China (14.3 percent), Iran (7.9 percent), climate change (5.8 percent), and North Korea (0.7 percent).
