China's Commerce Ministry has published a list of technologies and products banned from export to North Korea because they could be used to build nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.
The ban also covers goods that could be used to make long-range missiles.
China accounts for more than 80 percent of North Korea's trade and Pyongyang has been trading both military and civilian products and technologies with Beijing through border towns like Dalian and Dandong.
"As China pushes to resume the stalled six-party talks, it has made it clear it wants to continue sanctions against North Korea's nuclear weapons program," said a diplomatic source in Beijing.
But South Korea and the U.S. are unconvinced that there is any point talking to North Korea until it honors previous pledges to abandon its nuclear program.
