Badges with the face of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have yet to appear on the lapels of most North Korean officials, contradicting earlier reports that they have been widely distributed.
A North Korean official at the border truce village of Panmujom told South Korean reporters on Saturday that he has yet to see a badge with Kim junior's portrait and he heard that Kim prohibited the production of such badges in consideration of his people.
The two Koreas met at Panmunjom on the day for talks about the Kaesong Industrial Complex.
Some media reports previously said that Kim Jong-un badges were spotted in Pyongyang in May worn by members of the elite.
But North Korean officials who met with their South Korean counterparts over the weekend did not sport them, and North Korean reporters who covered the meeting wore older badges featuring nation found Kim Il-sung or both Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-un together, but none featuring only the young leader.
