POSTECH Tops Global Young University Ranking

      Universities in Korea and Hong Kong took most of the top spots in a ranking of universities founded less than 50 years ago by Times Higher Education.

      Korea's Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) came first for the second year running in the annual 100 under 50 ranking by THE this year.

      POSTECH's rival, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), moved up from fifth place to third. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is in fourth place, and Singapore's Nanyang Technological University in eighth.

      The U.K. has the most universities in the top 100 but only one in the top 10, the University of York.

      The 100 Under 50 rankings started in 2004 to shed light on young universities around the world.
