Gwanghwamun Plaza in downtown Seoul turned into a huge outdoor concert venue on Wednesday night as veteran singer Lee Seung-chul held a free showcase of his 11th album.
The area was packed with 5,000 fans, many of whom appeared hours early to secure good seats. Lee appeared on stage at 8 p.m. with Gwanghwamun in the background, and sang a number of his new songs and old hits, including those from his debut album in 1989.
"I've held over 2,000 concerts, but this was the first that I did for free," said Lee. "I wanted to get closer to fans and show them my latest songs, so I chose this venue at the heart of Seoul."
