Psy Nominated for Six Billboard Music Awards

Psy, who climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year with his mega hit "Gangnam Style," has been nominated for six categories in the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, including Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Song.

Other nominees for Top New Artist include idol star Carly Rae Jepsen, One Direction and singer-songwriter Gotye.

Of all the nominations, Psy is considered most likely to win the Top Streaming Artist award as "Gangnam Style" remains the most watched video on YouTube. The awards ceremony will be held in Las Vegas on May 19.

Fans are also keen to learn whether Psy will meet Ryu Hyun-jin after the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher publicly praised Psy's follow-up to "Gangnam Style."

After the music video for "Gentleman" was released, Ryu posted a comment on Twitter on April 13 saying, "I showed the 'Gentleman' music video to my teammates, and they loved it." Psy replied that he would do something special for Ryu when he next takes the plate if the singer's schedule permits it.

As Psy will leave for New York on Thursday, there is a good chance he will meet Ryu, who is due to serve as the starting pitcher against the Mets on Friday.
