Park Geun-hye Makes TIME Cover

Saenuri Party presidential candidate Park Geun-hye will feature on the cover of the Dec. 17 Asia edition of TIME magazine along with the headline, "The Strongman's Daughter."

The online version has the slightly more charged headline, "The Dictator's Daughter."

The article describes Park's life as the daughter of former president Park Chung-hee, her political vision, and what others say about her.

TIME points out that Park would be Korea's first female president. But it adds that substantial numbers of voters would have to forget or forgive the past if they are to cast their ballot for Park, who has a small lead over the opposition progressive candidate Moon Jae-in of the Democratic United Party.
