Shin Kyung-sook's novel "Please Look After Mom" has sold more than 2 million copies in Korea, Changbi Publishers said Monday. The tear-jerker, which became a million-seller within 10 months of its release in 2009, was also a huge success abroad.
Shin picked up the Man Asian Literary Prize this year, becoming the first Korean writer to be honored by the top literary award. The publisher has printed a 10,000-copy special edition to celebrate sales of 2 million copies, a rare achievement for a purely literary work.
