Korean films have the upper hand at cinemas this month, accounting for four of the current top five box-office hits.
According to figures from the Korean Film Council, "Suicide Forecast" and "Dangerous Meeting" are the top money earners at the moment. The former topped the daily chart on Monday with 41,794 viewers, and has accumulated 368,569 ticket sales so far. The latter attracted 35,957 cinema-goers on Monday, and has sold over 1.86 million tickets to date.
The only foreign film in the top five was the Hollywood action thriller "Hanna," which ranked third in the daily chart on Monday with 13,268 viewers. So far it has sold 153,650 tickets here.
