The number of Korean students going overseas to study is decreasing.
According to the Korean Educational Development Institute, the number of elementary and secondary school students studying overseas fell for the third consecutive year in 2009 by some 34 percent, the largest annual decline so far.
Experts disagree on the reasons behind the drop, with some saying it is due to fewer students choosing to study abroad, and others attributing it to the economic recession.
