The Korea Tourism Organization and France-based tire company Michelin signed a memorandum of understanding in Seoul on Tuesday to start publication of the Michelin Green Guide for Korea in March 2011.
Five thousand copies of the French version of the guide are slated to be printed that month while an English version will be released a few months later in June.
The Michelin Green Guide is a prominent publication for travelers and the guide for Korea will be the fourth to be published for an Asian country after Japan, Thailand and Singapore.
The Korea Tourism Organization says publication of a Michelin Red Guide for Korean restaurants, which rates establishments based on a three-star system, is also being discussed.
