Yogurt brand Yoplait has been named as forbidden food for Muslims.

The Korea Muslim Federation in its weekly bulletin last month warned some Yoplait includes a pork ingredient, gelatin. Manufacturer Binggrae said the gelatin is extracted and processed from pig skin.

Lee Ju-hwa, the secretary general at the Korea Muslim Federation, said, "We gave the advice because Yoplait is a well-known product and you wouldn't expect it to contain pork." According to the Federation, there are approximately 140,000 Muslims in Korea, including 35,000 Korean followers.

The "haram" food list includes other famous products including Orion's Choco-Pie. Orion admits the marshmallows in Choco-Pie contain gelatin obtained from pigs. The Koran forbids the consumption of pork.
