Hanjin Group plans to build an international medical center at Incheon International Airport. The group said Wednesday that a consortium consisting of its subsidiaries Korean Air, Hanjin Corp. and Inha University Hospital will sign a contract with the airport to build a medical center at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Incheon on Thursday.
With a plan to open in 2011, Yeongjong Medical Center will be built on a 6,146 sq.m site, with nine stories above the ground and two below.
The group said that the center will not only serve local residents and airport passengers but also attract foreign visitors with services such as cosmetic surgery, dermatology, dentistry and medical checkups. It expects some 30,000 foreigners a year will come to Korea to use the hospital.
Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho said, "By providing top-quality medical service through Yeongjong Medical Center, we will contribute to achieving national goals such as establishing international medical services and making Incheon International Airport a travel hub."
