Star couple Park Chul and Ok So-ri ended their 11 year marriage because of Ok’s adultery with an Italian chef only identified as G., according to Baek Jong-eun, the owner of a wedding consultancy and business partner of the actress. “I’m sure they divorced because of that Italian guy,” Baek said at a press conference at company headquarters. He also revealed a picture showing Ok and G two months ago. He added Park had “secured evidence” of the affair.

There have been some press reports attributing the couple’s divorce to Ok’s relationship with an Italian chef, but Ok disappeared from public view and Park is keeping his lips tightly sealed.

“Ok introduced G. to me as her English teacher, but I suspected she was lying because I wondered how a hotel restaurant chef could possibly have time to teach English after a busy day at work,” Baek said. “Two months earlier, they had their picture taken at the company. G. saw Ok and Park’s photo on the wall and asked if he was Ok’s husband. Ok answered ‘You don’t need to look at it.’” Baek explained he “felt bitter” over Ok’s attitude toward her husband. “I felt Ok was lying to me or hiding something. She also neglected her work as a co-representative of the company. I went to the hotel where G. worked, and I went again with Park, but G. wasn’t there.”

Baek says he first met Ok in June 2006, when he took her picture for a photo book to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut. He recalled being touched by her passionate professional attitude as an actress and decided to join hands with her and start the wedding consultancy. “I thought Park and Ok’s image as a happy couple would help the wedding consulting company. But now their marriage has broken up and it distresses me,” he said.

Baek complained the divorce dealt his business a hard blow in the peak wedding season. “I think Ok deceived and exploited me as far as the business is concerned. I want her to make an official apology to me, my staff and my customers.” Asked whether he plans to sue Ok, Baek claimed he wanted no compensation but “an official and wholehearted apology” from her.

Baek said he and Park Chul had met a few times with Ok So-ri before but became closer since August. “Two months ago, Park suspected I was Ok’s lover, because she used the excuse of working with me when she came home late. But we cleared up the misunderstanding, and Park politely apologized.” He expressed hope that Park would find stability soon and resolve the matter. “I feel sorry for their eight-year-old daughter, and I wish Park and his daughter well,” he said.
