Korea's largest cosmetics company Amore Pacific has made its way into the high-end Japanese market.
Amore Pacific said Monday it will open a section in the Isetan Department Store in Tokyo's Shinjuku. The Korean cosmetics company opened its first Japanese store at Hankyu Department Store in Osaka's Umeda on July 27.
Amore Pacific becomes the first Korean cosmetics company to succeed in satisfying notoriously picky Japanese customers in high-end department stores.
Amore Pacific president Suh Kyung-bae said the company plans to open some 10 outlets in Japanese luxury department stores and also to make aggressive forays into the U.S., Japan, Europe and China and other overseas markets to become a leading Asian cosmetics firm.
