Koreans Favor Scents Over Baubles for Valentine's Day

      While Koreans' preferred Valentine's Day gift is perfume, the Japanese favor more tangible jewelry, a poll found.

      UB Global conducted the survey on its multi-language dating site UBLove.com (www.ublove.com) from February 1 to 7 on unmarried Korean and Japanese of both genders. Of the Korean members, 98 or 27.6 percent chose perfume as the gift they would most love to be given by their Valentine.

      Jewelry and chocolate followed with 20.3 and 18.3 percent. The traditional flowers were next with 16.6 percent, while clothes came last with 7 percent.

      On the Japanese side, an unequivocal 61 people or 28.1 percent favored jewelry. Another traditional Valentine's Day gift, chocolate, came second with 20.7 percent of the vote, while or 41 people or 18.9 percent craved a watch.
