Korea's chief economic policymaker has reassured European companies that the country's economy is sound and that chances of another financial crisis hitting Korea are very slim. That is the message Knowledge Economy Minister Lee Yoon-ho conveyed to the EU Chamber of Commerce, foreign CEOs and diplomatic missions here in Korea.
Lee said he expects the pending Korea-EU free trade agreement to "present new opportunities for both parties." Through the FTA, governments and corporations will create for themselves a powerful tool with which to overcome the global economic crisis, he said.
