Gifts from Foreign Leaders Put on Display
President Lee Myung-bak was given silverware by former U.S. president George W. Bush, a silk fan by Chinese President Hu Jintao, and a Hakata doll by Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso, Cheong Wa Dae said Wednesday.

Cheong Wa Dae revealed 34 gifts Lee has received from foreign leaders since his inauguration on its website. The presidential office has put about 20 of them on display in a hallway open to visitors.

It is the first time an incumbent president has made his gifts from foreign leaders public. "We decided to put them on display because the president wanted ordinary citizens to see what gifts he has received," a presidential official said.
