Shin Ji-yai Sings Before Her Official LPGA Debut
Professional golfer Shin Ji-yai, 21, will release a digital single album featuring a remake of "Don't Say Goodbye" originally sung by Lee Seung-chul. She finished recording at a studio in Seoul on Tuesday.

The cover version will be available on music websites. Shin said, "My mother liked this song during her lifetime. When my voice got hoarse after practicing for a week, I found it as difficult as playing golf to sing."

Chun Hyun-sook, CEO at Shin's agency, Tee Golf Studio, said, "She has enjoyed singing since childhood and her timbre is clear and beautiful, and she even received a prize for writing an essay on why music is necessary in our daily life when she was a middle-school student."

Shin will only debut on the LPGA Tour as an official LPGA member this year, despite previously winning three LPGA titles. She is due to depart for Australia for training on the Gold Coast on Thursday, then will participate in the Ladies European Tour ANZ Ladies' Masters in Australia on Feb. 5. After that, she will go to Hawaii to compete in SBS Open, the opening game of LPGA Tour, on Feb. 12.
