Who's the Daddy of French Justice Minister's Baby?
Rachida Dati
French Justice Minister Rachida Dati, who allegedly had an affair with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, is again in the center of media attention after she gave a birth to a baby last Friday. After it was revealed in summer 2008 that Dati was pregnant, there was much speculation over who the father is. Media's attention abated somewhat after Dati said her private life was "complicated" and she was keeping it off limits, but the birth of Zohra Dati reignited interest.

The Times of London on Monday said the prime suspect is Francois Sarkozy, a younger brother of the president, who works in the pharmaceutical industry. The younger Sarkozy was spotted on Sunday at the private Paris clinic where Dati was staying after giving birth, and had reportedly spent Christmas Eve with her.

Others are José María Aznar, the former Spanish prime minister and a friend of Nicolas Sarkozy, Bernard Laporte, the French minister for Sports, Dominique Desseigne, a casino and hotel magnate, and French millionaire Henri Proglio. All of them have denied they impregnated the justice minister.

Although it seems rather unlikely, some even finger the president. After he divorced his second wife Cécilia in October 2007 and until he married his current wife Carla Bruni in February 2008, Sarkozy took Dati on state visits overseas, making her the de-facto first lady.

Dati gave a birth to the baby girl about two weeks prematurely by Caesarian section.
