Seoul has belatedly protested against a PR website maintained by the Japanese Foreign Ministry that Korea's Dokdo Islets are Japanese territory.

The Foreign Ministry on Sunday said it launched a "vehement protest" against the pages, titled "10 points for understanding Takeshima" -- the Japanese name for the islets -- "and asked for them to be deleted."

The ministry said the protest was prompted by the new availability of the material in 10 languages, up from three.

The Korean government has launched a PR counteroffensive with publications like "The Truth of Dokdo" through diplomatic missions overseas. The Foreign Ministry is publicizing Dokdo as Korea's territory in 10 languages on its own website.
