'Old-Fashioned' Video Provider Named Website of the Year

Foreign Web Giants Find Little Success in S.Korea
More than 1 Million Web Users Use .kr Domain
Internet Addresses Using .kr Near 1 Million Mark
Online video provider Hulu.com, a joint venture of News Corp. and NBC Universal, was named website of the year by the Associated Press on Saturday, for being "a trailblazing answer to how professional content can thrive on the web."

YouTube.com and Hulu.com represented the "new media" and the "old media." While YouTube offers a place to share video clips made by amateur users around the world, Hulu offers programs made professionally in collaboration between News Corp. and NBC Universal. YouTube is liable to copyright violation issues as the clips are uploaded by individual users, but Hulu operates strictly within legal boundaries.

"Many believe Hulu is more appealing to advertisers than YouTube, and that Hulu's ad revenues could equal YouTube's by the end of 2009," AP claimed.
