Hyundai Steel to Sell Urban Maglev Rail Production

Hyundai Steel says it has started producing urban maglev tracks for trains to reach speeds of up to 100 km per hour, making Korea the second country after Japan to do so.

Maglev or magnetic levitation trains float on a magnetic field.

This technology allows trains to move faster with less noise and maintenance compared to its predecessor on wheels.

The government aims to complete construction on a 54-km maglev system around Incheon International Airport by the year 2020.
