Child prodigy Song Yu-geun is entering graduate school three years after being admitted to university at the age of eight, attracting nationwide attention.
He will start at the University of Science and Technology established by 24 government funded research centers including the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute.
Park Seok-jae, president of KASSI said Yu-geun will start the astronomy and space science program at UST next February, and he will be able to acquire doctorate of science within three to five years. Research includes quantum and classical mechanics.
Yu-geun acquired 53 credits for two years after entering physics department of Inha University. After quitting the school, he studied independently and earned 115 credits via the credit bank system to gain his bachelor's degree.
