Ball Is in America's Court, N.Korea Warns
Rodong Shinmun, the organ of the Central Committee of the North Korean Workers' Party, on Monday said the future of relations between North Korea and the United States depends on the U.S, and instructed North Koreans ¡°not to betray the country.¡± This is apparently the regime¡¯s year-end message to its people and the world.

The U.S. House of Representatives Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism said the possibility of military action to prevent North Korea¡¯s nuclear program could not be ruled out. But Rodong Shinmun called this ¡°falsity and sophistry advocated by jingoists to justify the future invasion of North Korea.¡±

The newspaper¡¯s report underscored the diplomatic importance of solving problems through dialogue rather than confrontation, which is also the desired goal of the six-party nations.

In its editorial, the newspaper said, ¡°The strength of comradeship comes to light in times of emergency and radical change. Those who valued the importance of comradeship in times of crisis lived lives of revolutionaries, but those who did not slipped into lives of betrayers.¡±
