Korea's exports will exceed US$400 billion mark on Monday.
The Korea International Trade Association on Sunday said exports are expected to break the $400 billion barrier on Monday after they posted $357.6 billion in late November. It will be 44 years since the country's exports first surpassed $100 million mark in 1964.
Exports topped $1 billion in 1971, $10 billion in 1977, and $100 billion in 1995.
According to KITA, Korea achieved the feat more than four years faster than the 10 other nations who can claim the prize, where they took 17.2 years on average to grow from $100 billion to $400 billion.
