Starting Monday, North Korea scales back on the time of passage through the border as well as the number of times it will allow entry.
A gate leading to the North's Kaesong Industrial Complex will only be open six times a day down from the current 19. The number of people allowed to the North will also be slashed by half.
About 2,000 South Koreans at the inter-Korean industrial park have already come home following Pyongyang's demands. The measures are expected to affect the over 80 South Korean businesses working in the complex.
The inter-Korean train operating since last year also made its final run Friday while tours to the border city of Kaesong have been suspended. Tour operator Hyundai Asan has already withdrawn all related personnel there.
The Unification Ministry says some of the remaining staff at the North's Mt. Kumgang resort will also be coming back this week following Pyongyang's demand to reduce the number of people there to less than 100.
