Chung Il-mi

Korean pro golfer Chung Il-mi has been appointed to the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association¡¯s Player Executive Committee, it was announced last Thursday. She is the first Korean national to become an executive member of the LPGA.
The LPGA Player Executive Committee consists of seven senior players, including president Michelle Ellis, Pat Hurst, Juli Inkster and Angela Stanford. It represents players in policy making with the LPGA Board of Directors. ¡°Michelle Ellis contacted me and informed me of my appointment,¡± Chung said. She will be on the committee for the next three years starting Dec. 13.
Chung is regarded as the ¡°big sister¡± of all the Korean players playing on the tour. She promised to do her best to represent the rights of foreign players, including over 50 Korean golfers.
