Kim Yu-na, an 18-year-old figure skating star, will hold a charity ice show in Seoul on Christmas day with other young Korean skaters like Yoon Yea-ji, Lee Dong-won and Kim Min-seok.

Kim will return to Korea to compete in the ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix Final in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, from Dec. 11 to 14. She has also invited three-time U.S. men¡¯s champion Johnny Weir, who won bronze medal in the 2008 World Figure Skating Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden, in March.

Through her management agency, Kim said, ¡°I am holding this event to repay the love and support I have been received from fans. It¡¯s a small Christmas present for my fans.¡± Proceeds from the show will be donated to a charity for children in need.

The competitors invited to the Grand Prix Final will be decided after the NHK Trophy, the sixth Grand Prix event to be held in Tokyo from this Saturday. It is highly probable that reigning world champion Mao Asada and Yukari Nakano, fourth-place finisher at the 2008 championship, will compete for the top two places. In that case, Kim, Joannie Rochette of Canada, Carolina Kostner of Italy, and Asada, Nakano and Miki Ando of Japan will compete in the ladies field at the Grand Prix Final.
