The Korea Post under the Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced Thursday it would offer an average 27 percent discount on postage for Christmas or New Year's cards sent overseas during December. This would lower the price of a 40 g Christmas card sent to Japan or China to W550, to the United States and the United Kingdom to W700, and to Egypt and Mexico to W800.
The Korea Post has also started offering a 15 percent discount for application forms sent to universities abroad until the end of February next year. A 0.5 kg application document heading to the UK usually costs W16,400, but with the discount, it will be W13,940. In order to benefit from the discount, the sender needs to present their student ID card or the addressee should be a university or campus residence.
