North Korea¡¯s state symphony orchestra may perform in New York City this coming March. Radio Free Asia reports that the performance will be in response to the one given by the New York Philharmonic in Pyongyang earlier this year.
RFA said the Korea Society based in New York has already begun preparations for the concert following a request by North Korean officials based in the U.S.
The North Korean state orchestra had sought to hold performances last year in New York and London, but the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis caused interested sponsors to withdraw their support.
