The movie ¡°Portrait of a Beauty,¡± which is drawing attention for its sensual exposure of heroine Kim Min-sun, reached the one-million-viewer mark, just nine days after its release on Nov. 13, according to CJ Entertainment distribution.
¡°Portrait of a Beauty¡± took the top spot at the box office, beating ¡°Max Payne,¡± ¡°Blindness¡± and ¡°Quantum of Solace.¡± In particular, the leading film is grabbing impressive online ticket sales. Experts say the film¡¯s audience is growing through strong world-of-mouth among moviegoers in their 40s or 50s.
The movie has stirred controversy with provocative scenes, including Kim Min-sun appearing nude and portrayals of homosexuality.
