Schools Required to Be More Transparent

Schools in Korea will be required to publish more internal information including fiscal budgets, the number of unionized teachers, and the rate of school violence.

As part of the Education Ministry's push to increase transparency and serve the peoples' right to know, all schools will be obliged to post the information on government websites starting next month. Statistics on student transfers, drop-outs, tuition and monetary contributions will also be put up for viewing.

The salaries of high-school teachers as well their ages and backgrounds are excluded from the measure.
