The government of Jeju Island is planning to propose joint tourism marketing with other islands in the world at the upcoming Inter-Islands Tourism Policy forum.
The ITOP forum was established in 1997 to develop the tourism industry for member islands.
A Jeju official said at an ITOP forum to be held in Okinawa on Wednesday, Jeju will offer joint marketing as a way to promote tourism and protect the environment of the islands by pooling resources.
Eight islands belong to the organization including Hawaii, Bali and Hainan in China.
