Lee Eun-joo Captures Love Through a Lens
Lee Eun-joo (63), a photographer who has specialized in shooting artists for over 30 years, published a collection of portraits of 50 Korean celebrity couples, entitled, ¡°The story of a couple.¡±

Last year, Lee was busy taking portraits of these famous couples, many of whom were initially reticent. It took a long time for her to convince some of them to participate. Lee visited their homes and captured images as they talked about their lives. She asked them to write about their own biographies, and compared her pictures with old photos from their personal albums.

Browsing Lee¡¯s collection, one can sense the love and respect these couples have for each other. ¡°I wanted to show these couples¡¯ beautiful journeys to the young generation, which increasingly turns to divorce as the easy option,¡± said Lee. ¡°The love I depict is not always as fresh as it is between younger couples, but the love and respect that develops over time can be even more beautiful,¡± added the artist.

The published portraits will be exhibited in the Sun Gallery in Insa-dong, Seoul, from Nov. 11 to 17. For further details, call (02) 734-0458.
